Unfortunately we have no pictures to prove it, but we did go camping Friday and Saturday up at the Rim. We went with some friends from our old ward, the Halls and Stubbs. They had trailers so it was nice when we needed to go potty or if the kids wanted to watch a movie. We had 2 tents. That was the kids idea, they really wanted to sleep in their own tent and I thought it was a great idea. They did really well for the most part. Israel had a bad dream, and then they both woke up @ one point wanting to get up and get dressed when it was still pitch black. I just told them that it was still night and they better go back to sleep or we would leave first thing in the morning... and they were out!
It was a lot of fun just sitting around on lawn chairs, freaking out that Kawika would fall in the fire, going for a nature walk, catching bugs, smelling rain, and not wearing make up. I know I'm a freak and I always feel so much cleaner when there's nothing on my face, even if I am all dirty camping. Now, I don't think I LOOK better, I just like to feel clean. And I'm also with Becky on that I would rather walk around barefoot camping then on hotel carpet....except there were a LOT of ants where we camped and that could have freaked my feet out.
Unfortunately we didn't camp over Saturday night because when we went to get into bed we realized that the tent fly hadn't been put down all the way and my sleeping bag was soaked. So @ 9:30 we decided we may as well head home and by 10:30 we were on our way out. We got home @ 1:00 & in bed by 2:00. Not too bad considering we were going to try to get out of there by 7:30 on Sunday.
If you have read all this then good for you. If not, I don't blame you...kind of long.
